I'm stunned. I dind't think the Gators has a shot tonight. In fact I had the score being pretty much opposite to what it is now.

I had a feeling this game would be closer than alot of people thought, and I even put money on Florida, but I didn't think they'd dominate the way they did tonight..

41-14 w/ 10 min. left.

I can imagine what Jim Rome, Dan Patrick and Kesilias will be saying tomorrow. Wheeeee!

Well Rome was hedging his bets today. And whatever Kusilias said, he'll own it. While Dan Patrick while probably just act like a douchbag, and continue being way over rated.

Oh, Dibble, why did you have to punch Stewart Scott (even though he was probably acting like a douche too and deserved it)?

Wow. Sure wasn't expecting that.

And...if Florida wins next week, Boise State will be the only undefeated team in the country this year. Think about THAT...IMO, that would be something to hang a hat on, even if they didn't get a shot at the national championship.
If Ohio State wins, then Ohio State wins, that's fair enough. But...at the very least, this should result in more calls for a playoff system, I would hope.

Even more pro-playoff ammo now, IMO.

I hope this might give the BCS pause, too - look at the five BCS games.

Rose Bowl - 14-pt margin (semi-blowout)
Fiesta Bowl - 1-pt margin (great game)
Orange Bowl - 11-pt margin (meh)
Sugar Bowl - 27-pt margin (full-on blowout)
BCS Championship - 27-pt margin (full-on blowout)

You would've thought that there would be more one-score games in there, IMO...not exactly edge-of-your-seat-entertaining games for the most part. Most of the higher-2nd-tier bowls (Gator, Capital One, Outback, Cotton, Alamo, Liberty) were a lot closer than the BCS games.

All together now..."We want playoffs!"

not to mention that the Buckeyes had nealy 2 months off before this game was played..........

too bloody long

No reason these guys shouldn't or couldn't be playing in a playoff format IMO....

It's funny how every fan, commentator and coach seems to want a playoff format to decide the championship, and we still don't have it...

some BCS official said last night that there will be no playoff format until at least 2010.

Also to note........

first time ever an NCAA school has carted the National Championship in both Basketball and Football in the same season.

Who woulda thunk it'd be the Gators to accomplish that feat first......:1:

Good old Florida. Better than "The U".

I actually got to sit in the old Gator Bowl in Jax when I was a kid.

Hey that's cool. My wife picks her teams the same way. Of course, she has better taste in color.

I don't pick that way, it was just an observation

I don't get it ...

It's not the same academic year (basketball 05-06, football 06-07).
It's not quite the same calendar year (basketball 06, football 07 (barely)).

I suppose one could say the seasons are in the same calendar year...but it's kinda not quite connected.

Fine, no other school has held both championships at the same time. Happy?
