View Full Version : Scoop on Brady vs Bishop...

Some time ago I found out why the Argos kept Bishop instead of Brady.

Here's the lay of the land...
Pros: great arm strength, great athleticism
Cons: reputed to have difficulties understanding some of the nuances of the game

Pros: Smart, doesn't make many mistakes
Cons: Conservative style

It turns out that the Argos felt that Bishop could be coached to improve his understanding of the game. And with that increased understanding he'd be able to make the best use of his tools.

Brady, on the other hand, was seen to be overly cautious. It's one thing not to make mistakes, but it's another to be conservative to a fault in your playing style. The Argos felt that this 'character trait' was something that could not be coached out of a player.

That sounds like a Kent Austin assessment if I've ever heard one. :)

well i think it's easier to teach someone to be aggressive than to perform a brain transplant. but whatever, the argos made their choice, and i think it;s the wrong one.
