Theo Fleury was supposed to play his second game with the Horse Lake Thunder in Grande Prairie last night. The local fans packed the rink in hopes of seeing this reborn NHL star.

He never made it. Apparently he missed his connecting flight. ;)

And a lying bum at that.

He played his first game on Saturday night in Horse Lake.

He tried to make it back to town for a Tuesday night game after being in the States somewhere.

So much for working with the local kids as he said was his priority.

Fleury never was in the States, went back to Calgary where he lives!
Fleury, who was supposed to play with the Horse Lake Thunder against the Athletics at the Coca-Cola Centre Tuesday, was in the U.S. on business earlier this week and couldn't get to Grande Prairie in time for the 8:30 p.m. faceoff.

The Thunder got the news from Fleury about two hours before game time.

"Theo phoned at about 6:20 p.m. He was coming back from the States and was delayed and couldn't make the connection out of Calgary at 5:30 p.m.," Thunder coach Glen Watson said after Tuesday's game, an 8-4 win for Horse Lake. "There was nothing we could do about it. I know he wanted to be here and he apologized."

I think with the weather in other parts of Canada and the U.S. it just might not be his fault......

Perhaps his flight was delayed by snow "Fleurys"...

He whined and complained how everyone is against him and won't let him play.
He said it was about grassroots hockey and about making a contribution to the community.

Well, he doesn't live or even stay in the community and he can't even make games when he is finally let to play.

I agree. Same old Theo. It's always somebody else's fault, never his.

You sure he didn't miss the bus?

Like most have said, "same old Theo." The good news is the fines probably aren't as big as the NHL.
