Scott Gordon remains in Saskatchewan

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today that they have re-signed Canadian safety Scott Gordon to a one-year plus an option contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Gordon is entering his third season with the Green and White. The Ottawa University product was originally drafted by the Calgary Stampeders in the 2nd round of the 2002 CFL College Draft and was set to become a free agent next week.

Gordon dressed in 17 regular season games, as well as both playoff games during this past season and recorded 20 special teams tackles and six defensive tackles. In his three seasons with Saskatchewan, Gordon has played in 30 regular season games and has picked up 26 special teams tackles and seven defensive tackles.

"We have been very pleased with the skill level and work ethic we've seen from Scott," stated Riders head coach Danny Barrett. "We expect Scott to come into training camp this year pushing for the starting safety job."

Seems a few people think he will beat out Darnell, who had a brutal year. And yes, CFL.ca does suck, big time...
