My guess is the "scheduling conflicts" would've meant having to sandwich Edmonton in between two Eastern stops or something, which would mean the travel wouldn't make much sense at all for the tour.

I've played there twice and while it's nice, I think there are better courses.

The original '06 date was the weekend following the Women's British Masters. That made it unlikely any of the top names were going to fly here for the Canadian Open.
Also, the Mayfair G&CC has the right of first refusal to host it.

Carin Koch looks pretty sharp. There is also the platinum blonde on "The Big Break II' who (to rip a line from Carson) makes my putter flutter.
