    It is amazing what a difference a couple of weeks make as the Edmonton Eskimos are back in the CFL west playoff conversation. Three weeks ago a tough embarrassing loss by the Esksies to the CFL’s worst team the Saskatchewan Roughriders has seem to ignited something in the Esks. That loss was a blessing in disguise as it has lit a fire under Mike Reilly and the Eskimos reinvigorating the heart of a champion.

    It is obvious that the Edmonton Eskimos season has not gone according to plan. For now they have found a way to right the ship with a 27 – 23 win over the B.C. Lions. For how long not even the players really know. The 2016 version of the Eskies have found ways to lose to the worst team in football the previous week. Then eke out a win at homes against one of the best this week. One thing is for certain, the Eskies as a team are slowly evolving.

    The Edmonton Eskimos started the 2016 campaign with a new defensive coordinator in Mike Benevides, but many familiar faces on the defensive line. After looking at potential changes Benevides opted for the often injured end Marcus Howard next to Cedric McKinley at nose tackle on the right side of the line.
