We have discussed this 1st point many times in the past and it was brought up most eloquently by Diesel on the Gregor show the other day.

President in charge of football operations: A senior position in absolute parallel to Rick LeLacheurs position. This person acts on all football matters with the league, hires the GM. Acts as a liason between the financial side and football side. ...

There has been a lot of discussion on this in the media and on these forums about some of the rational and irrational displeasure with him to go along with the rational or irrational approval of him by some.

To Know Him Is To Love Him:This is a totally natural phenominum, you see it not only in sporta but in every walk of life. Those that have cordial personal dealings with another are much less apt to be critical to overlook faults and to have whqat they feel are valid reasons to defend a person. Those that have never met the person and are at a distance are more apt to not only disapprove of the person but to also flat out rip the person (at times unfairly) because they have no personal association.

    He Doesn't Look The Part:

There is no question that in some aspects a person is judged on their appearance and demeanor. The has certainly been an element of this in the disapproval of Danny Maciocia, this is also the absolute silliest reason for people to not like the job the person is doing. Although mentioned on a occasions this is down the list as to reasons fans did not approve of DM.

It All Started During the Coaching Tenure:

Danny Maciocia is a Grey Cup winning coach and no one can take that away from him. He deserves full credit for that accomplishment and the fans should not forget that he made some critical moves to help the team win the cup. However during that season there were a few coaching mistakes and obviously more to follow. Running onto the field to celebrate before the game was over, celebrating games a play before they were over and subsequently losing them (Stegall play, botched FG vs Saskatchewan). An offense that other teams seemed to figure out and often losing the half time adjustments battle.
