    Hmmmmm...interesting.

Steve Marsh might fit that description, as well.

It would be great to see Mobes back on the field, but if Marsh was able to make a comeback, I would be very happy.

Nothing definite as of yet but certain things have taken place behind the scenes. There are things that I'm not at liberty to discuss openly here yet...
I hit them as hard as I could on the mouth right from the start of the game so they were thinking this was going to be a long day. Sooner or later one of us had to quit. And it wasn't going to be me.

Interesting Indeed. However if he came back to the esks it would just another example of DMs track record of cutting people and bringing them back all the time.

He used to drive a K5 Blazer that I worked on once upon a time but to my best recollection he never owned a Willy's Jeep......

This would certainly be welcome news if there is any truth to it. We're lots of the cutting and bring players back have more to do with Salary Cap issues?

Which is why it should just lay low and file under the "maybe yes - maybe no" catagory.....

While I'd personally love to see Mobes make a triumphant return, I am content to let it evolve without getting my hopes up.

Re: Singor Mobley coming out of Retirement ?

If this is true, I just hope that it's NOT a "Sean Millington" case.

Remember that article that Schultzy wrote the first...errr, the second time Millington came back?

It was along the lines of "the mind is willing but the body AIN'T able".

No doubt there is some competitive fire there. But to be out of the game for so long can make it nearly impossible to get back into PROFESSIONAL game shape / readiness.

    Is it impossible? No.

But the challenges are that much greater and takes a herculean effort in order to succeed.

he should never have been forced out to begin with!
if he is still in game shape, he should return.. 08 is looking brighter already!

Well he did play a little Div 1 flag last year and has kept himself in pretty decent shape. It's not like he started on the Tony Gwynn diet and excersise program....

But at this stage there isn't much to say publicly.

I would have loved have seen his first few games.....how would he stop from going "through" a guy instead of grabbing for a flag?

Well, if Ebell DOES end up bolting for the NFL, at least Jersey #27 can be back on D where it belongs..

i would be happy if he was even just back on the coaching staff.. we need that leadership... either on the field or off it!

I think I hinted a while back that the Esks needed to make sure 27 was back in the fold for 08

On of my fav Esks for alot of years but if he does come back I honestly don't see a place for him. He'd be competing with Shabbaz in my mind. I don't think either Shabbaz or Mobes is suite to be a cover LB guy.

Shabazz, Gass, Garrett, and Mobes, with an NI or two backing up the middle?

Sounds fine to me...they'll all need rotation out at times. It'd be great too especially if Shannon shifts between LB and half, depending on injuries and opponents and such.

On the depth chart from last year we only had two outside LB's listed (as of the last game). Shabazz and Garrett. If one of them went down (luckily they stayed healthy), we would've been absolutely screwed...I really think we need 3 of them, even if only two of them are playing at once (and on passing downs there's nothing to stop us subbing out either the middle guy or a DL for an extra coverage LB).

hell, even if Mobes is around to provide the leadership and teach the next 'generation' about being an Esk and being a LB... then that's good by me!

I believe this should be filed under "rumour." Sorry, but I've seen too many people post on this site who start **** that never gets substantiated. I'll wait for the official announcement on this one.
