    News Esks Schedule

    http://www.esks.com/default.asp?V_DOC_ID=1738

I know there is a post on the league sched but here is the Esks' sched.

I'm not a fan of the 8:00 Thursday games. I would still like to see one afternoon game in the summer so I could bring my boy to a game and not have him fall asleep by the second qtr.

Starting the season off against the Riders. Great. A game that I will be at and will have to sit through stupid Grey Cup crap.

    Re: Esks Schedule

4 Regular season thursday night games. So all summer, the Eskimos play their home games on work nights.

It was 100% that I wasn't going to renew, but now I'm actually happy that I didn't.

We play the Stamps on Labour Day and again on the following Friday.

    Just as I predicted. Spooky.

Congrats Esks........There are 6 of 9 games that there is no freaking chance of me taking my 6 year old boy to.

oh......with exception to the halloween game I'll be there, but way to piss on the next generation of Eskimo fans.

The Halloween game is the icing on the cake in that regard. That one messes with me as I know for a fact I'll be chaparoning my boy out on the streets in his quest for candy and fun.

    Re: Esks Schedule

Just a thought...but maybe they were hoping by having the games on Thursday during the summer...more people would come? Weekends are for the lake and stuff? Maybe they're trying to cut down on the competition with Grand Prix and Festivals? I don't know, I'm TRYING to think of some explanation other than they're just dumb...
Oh, and how about that Halloween game...I hope we don't come dressed up as the worst team in the west again...they wore that costume last year...oh wait and the year before...
Rider Nation - They can't count to 13 at the Grey Cup...we have 13 Grey Cups and counting...

    Re: Esks Schedule

I personally don't mind week night games during the summer, 8pm starts blow though. I do understand that for the majority of the people on here weekends work better but for me I like weeknight games because I can make other plans for the weekend out of town if I desire.

The good thing is that with these late games Bryan Hall will fall asleep by the end of the 1st quarter.

A night game at the end of October in Edmonton on a 'holiday'.

Depending on standings, this could be the least attended game in Eskimo history.

    Re: Esks Schedule

I was in the ‘wait and see the schedule’ column for the season seat renewal, chalk me up as a NO Rick … I would not be able to attend a game until Mid September so no point really. Nice job CFL & EE you are a family of 4 + 4 corporate seats lighter now…. Can these guys do anything right?

    The schedule is simply:

"I hit them as hard as I could on the mouth right from the start of the game so they were thinking this was going to be a long day. Sooner or later one of us had to quit. And it wasn't going to be me."

The only way I see them agreeing to this is if there is going to be some MAJOR give-aways and prizes at the game. Enough for the kids to skip going door-to-door and get all their loot at one location.

They HAD to have thought of that, right?

But what a risk. If it is a meaningless game (which many are at the end of the season) AND it is -20 with snow on the ground AND it is Halloween, who is going to show up?

Halloween and 8:00 PM start times on a Thursday? Must be double header night for the Eastern Bastadges, not that they would watch the second game.

It really is a shame. The Eskimos were already going to have a drop in attendance, no mater what lies they tell the media. They've missed the playoffs and finished last for 2 straight years. And their response to that was to promote the man responsible. There are fans who will always go, no matter what. But a lot of people will stay away this year.

Perhaps they will use this schedule as a reason for the decline in attendance? They must have some say in the schedule?

I imagine all teams get consulted. 4 Thursday night games? There's no way the Eskimos weren't consulted on that.

Unless the Oct 31 game is a 'Win or you're out' scenario I will be shocked if they get 20,000 people in the stands.
