Fun game to watch from Clarke Stadium, September 26, 1970. Edmonton set a new team attendance record with a crowd of 23,061.
(audio kicks in after a couple minutes)

Fast Times at Ridgemont High was released in theatres 35 years ago today. I remember going. Still one of my all-time favourite comedies.

The Weather Channel set up for a live shot of the Georgia Dome being imploded, and at the perfectly wrong time ... this happened

For anyone who spent hours and hours renting/watching all the best and worst horror VHS back in the 80's and 90's...

I'm guessing this is coaches film for Sept 1st, 1971 Argos at Esks (Clarke Stadium)
Joe Theismann at QB for the Argos - not sure who is QB for Edmonton. Maybe Larry Lawrence? Perhaps 56Parkies or someone else can confirm.
edit - looks like Don Trull gets in there is well in the 3rd quarter.

    Enjoy.

Yessir, that's #19, Larry Lawrence at the helm to start off the game. Fun to watch

Fun to watch. Pipes and LaGrone were more agile than I remember. Griffin and Gasser at LB. Shatzko at DE, # 55 I believe. Weird to relive how the punt returners were out bare naked with no blocking at all. Dupuis, Wylie , Walasiuk were a tough bunch of CFL'ers. Still recall Ed George of the Als hitting one of our returners while the returner was waiting to catch the ball. Brutal takeout.

Perhaps this re-cut trailer will finally answer the question, is Die Hard a Christmas movie?

60 years ago today, Buddy Holly died in a tragic plane crash along with Ritchie Valens & JP Richardson (The Big Bopper) after a concert in Clear Lake, Iowa the night before. Buddy was one of the original innovators, influencing many future generations of rock and roll artists. He popularized the four-piece rock band as well as multi-tracking/overdubbing and the use of orchestration in rock music... and he was a very talented songwriter. So much accomplished in his twenty-three years.

Buddy Holly was an unreal rock n roll pioneer. One of my absolute all time favorites, and he had been dead nearly 20 years before I was born. I wonder what his career would have turned into had the plane not crashed.

Don't forget Richie Valens only 18 and a Blossoming Star in the Music industry.

Ritchie had some good music and some real potential to be a legit music star, but Buddy was on a whole different revolutionary level as to what he did for music.

In the off season, I usually watch old games I have on hard drives and DVD's as well as youtube hightlights. This game from 2009 was a fun one.

Crazy piece of that story is that a young Waylon Jennings gave up his seat for Buddy...
