They need to win game 2 if they do they'll have real confidence they can hang with golden state and beat them.

The Raptors. Unbelievable road game 4. Can wrap it up Monday at home. What a scene this could be.

    Heritage moment type stuff.

Canadian women win their opening World Cup match today. Despite being ranked 5th in the world, it's only the second time they have ever win a World Cup match when not playing in North America.

I thought it was a pretty typical Canadian women's team game. Loads of possession, but an inability to make quick decisions, shoot from distance or drive into the middle. No killer instinct. They should have beat Cameroon 4-0.

After seeing the fans in Toronto cheer Durant getting injured, I hope GS wins. That crap would never have happened in Alberta.

Gotta (mostly) disagree. Cameroon was playing for the tie from the opening whistle, had the whole team back in the box more than once. Shooting from distance was a definite flaw, though. Any shot has a chance!

As an Esks fan, I despise the Stamps and the Riders.
As a Canucks fan, I loathe the Oilers, Flames, Leafs, Hawks and Bruins.

But to this day, I have never hated a team more than I hate the USA women’s soccer team. Their arrogance knows no bounds. They stomp the ever living **** out of Thailand 13-0, and celebrated EVERY goal like it was the World Cup winning goal. I’m not saying to stop scoring but show some ****ing class. No need to rub it in and disrespect your opponents.

It was 2 guys in the front row while everyone else chanted his name as he left the floor, but okay. We don’t need the bandwagoners anyway.

Hard to fault the team for being classless when they are the product of a classless culture with a classless fan base.

"Act like you've been there before and will be there again." - Hugh Campbell (aka someone with more class in his pinky toe than the entire US women's World Cup team.

I did find it interesting that 98% of their defense of their actions was about 'running up the score' which is not what people were criticizing....

And for once NOT a case of "would you say this is it was men?" Yes. Yes, we would.

The media said a whole sections were cheering.

Classless either way if it was 2 guys or a bunch of sections.

They may be "Canada's Team" but I haven't for one second cheered for them this whole playoff run.

Canadian women in a hole, down 1-0 to Sweden on sloppy defending even though we've held possession. Half an hour left to try to even it up.

In men's soccer, Canada beat Cuba 7-0 yesterday to advance to the quarter final of the Gold Cup. While the opening round victories against Martinique and Cuba (as well as a loss to Mexico) were expected, scoring 12 goals in 3 games was not expected. 19-year old Davis with 5 goals in those 3 games (and 9 in the first 7 games he's played for Canada) gives hope for the future.

Huge missed opportunity for Canada. Hand ball in the crease have Canada a penalty shot, but the keeper saved it.

Why was Canada’s women’s soccer team so overhyped? I watched all their games and was never impressed, especially in the final 3rd.

Without Sinclair in her prime, they look hopeless on offence.

Wonder if the coach survives to the Olympics after that bad of a tournament.

    Re: Canadian Sport/Athletes

They simply fell victim to the typical Canadian bug...absolutely no imagination within 30 yards of the opponent's goal. It seems their 5th place ranking was over-enthusiastic.
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.
