Broadly based, he forgot to mention that impeachment hearings occur every four years for ALL elected positions in the US, not just the President.

For President it has only happened 4 times in history, resulting in 2 impeachments with no convictions and 1 resignation.

No. I hold elections in much higher regard than impeachment proceedings. Elections are much more broadly based and you know what they say about democracy "It's the worst possible political system, except for all the others."

    "Malfeasance"?

    1. The overwhelming majority of these malfeasance charges are politically based. It's the old "sore loser" syndrome which has taken a firm grip on U.S. politics since the late 20th century. I have neither the time, patience nor inclination to sort through all the charges of malfeasance to determine which if any aren't based on political partisanship.

    2. I'm a common sense bottom line type of person and you've heard the old adage "It's the economy, stupid." Well so far it's been alright. (My concern of course is always the level of government spending and the deficit but....) Therefore I'm content to let the electorate decide the matter on election night.

In the meantime I find all the partisan carping on malfeasance beyond tiresome.

What also needs to be mentioned is that outside of elections, impeachments are incredibly damaging to the democratic process. They're a last ****ing resort and not to be pursued just because you lost the election and hate the winner's guts.

So you are ignoring the actual allegations and dismissing it as "sore loser" syndrome?

Hardly a "problem" for me. After all I'm not the one obsessing about Donald Trump here.

Interesting that the fellow next to me at the office just turned toward me unbidden and said "You know the latest theory is that Donald Trump was sent by the Democrats to destroy the Republican Party. Look at his history of political contributions. He contributed to Mario Cuomo, Pamela Harris and Hillary Clinton."

Then though to everyone's surprise Trump went and won the election. And he became his own man as opposed to a Democrat wolf in Republican sheep's clothing.

Oh well. The law of unintended consequences strikes again!

That's not what's happening this time around and you bloody well know it.

No, they want to obstruct the doj from investigating Ukrainian interference in the election, and distract you from Biden's corruption. Trump did not threaten the Ukraine, Biden did.

You obviously don't know Brian that well.

He may not be that virtuous, but he's a hell of a lot smarter than you.

A word to the wise. Stay away from insults. Quite simply, if I choose to participate, well let's just say you won't like it.

Bring it. I will find it humorous to be insulted by someone who likes Trump. If you like him, I would damn well hope you DON'T like me.

How many times did your computer have to underline virtuous before you spelled it correctly?

When I find such a person, I'm not so sure he'll be all that excited to make your acquaintance. After all, there's no shortage of Trump critics these days. In fact you're with the crowd. I take it that it doesn't bother you to be so common.

Guess what? I don't like you anyway. Quite simply you take yourself far too seriously. You're stuffy. You've shown yourself completely incapable of engaging in world play and enjoying the interplay. You get hot and bothered by differing opinions contradicting your own in what should be a playful debate.

Sort of like Donald Trump actually.

So then are you one of those who relies on computer prompts when it comes to spelling?

Or would you rather this thread become a spelling bee? Might be an improvement all things considered.

I guess I'd also appreciate Trump if I wrote at a fourth grade level.

That would be any Conservative idealoge out there. I work with a bunch of them. I'm good friends with most of them but I shake my head at how easily brainwashed they are by this reality TV show carnie.

It's the "lesser of two evils" concept. The alternative to Donald Trump is the old tax-and-spend liberal Democrat crowd. You know, the ones who promise more government spending programs, more regulations, more laws for your "own good". The net result is less freedom of choice for every individual consumer and taxpayer.

Donald Trump at least promised to "drain the swamp" and cut back on the size of government. Whether he's done a good job on delivering on his promises is another question. But that's not why he's criticized by his opponents.

It’s so weird to see a president on TV at a media making a speech in which he’s openly asking other leaders to interfere/find dirt on his political opponents.

I'll be looking closely at the federal government payroll number at the end of his term and comparing it with that at the start of his term. That will tell much of the story.
