Attention Game day thread--Eskies v Traitor Jones

Here we go--round 2 of the Revenge Bowl v the Greenwhites! If all goes according to schedule, we beat them by at least 15 with Reilly & Walker having big games. There is still lots of doubt in my mind about our secondary & Bene's schemes, but I think the pass rush will be a lot better tonight & Durant will be pressured into mistakes.

Re: Game day thread--Eskies v Traitor Jones

The players can say all they want about it just being another game but that's BS. It's pretty apparent that Jones and his staff were working on a deal to jump to the Riders prior to the Grey Cup. It was all over the news prior to the Grey Cup. That had to sting a little and take a little away from the players as the attention should have been focused on them and the game not the coaches jumping ship. They win the game, didn't even have time to soak in being champs and there is Jones at a Riders press conference not even 2 weeks later if I am not mistaken.

If I was a player, I'd be pissed, I'd feel betrayed and I would want to shove it down Jones's throat especially in your home stadium. JC Sheritt was on Gregor's show this week and said he wasn't normally a trash talker but he said he'd be talking this game. Reilly tried to play it cool when Gregor tried pressing him but I expect him to come out firing and giving Jones and a few of the traitor staff a few long stares after throwing a TD or better yet blowing up a Rider D player on a bootleg in front of the bench. I expect the fans to be really fired. I expect JC, Odell and the rest of the players left over from last years D to be fired up. I expect even Hervey to be fired up and probably even had a few individual chats with a few key vets. This might be "game 2" in the Esks season but it's a BIG game to the fan base and the team.

I hope they run up the score.

I hit them as hard as I could on the mouth right from the start of the game so they were thinking this was going to be a long day. Sooner or later one of us had to quit. And it wasn't going to be me.

Sadly, even the slightest possibility of rain will still scare away many fans. We better be louder than the busloads of hillbillies.

Re. the rain: People need to step up, pancho up and show up.

Re. the "busloads of hillbillies": Even when their team was up and ours was down, they never came anywhere even close to being the majority and they usually left our house a helluva lot quieter than they entered it.

Perhaps I'm biased... But did that touchdown play look like procedure on the LT to anyone else?

    Wasn't the receiver offside?

Agreed. Should have dropped it in over the top.

Why do people point to their wrists when asking for the time, but don't point to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?

Saw that interception coming before he even threw it. He was looking at the receiver the whole way.

It was he right decision. I take Walker 1 on 1 any day. Just poor placement.

I am incredibly nervous about this defense. Is it schemes or personnel? I gave is a mulligan against Ottawa because their passing attack is incredible and it was the first game of the year. But even Durant is picking us apart.

Could have easily been 7, lucky he dropped it, he was open. Has our secondary stopped anything yet?

Not yet. Luckily our defensive line looks as strong as ever. I hope bene starts blitzing. Allows us to tighten up coverage and shorten the field if the QB doesn't have time to go deep.
