Paul is definitely a smart man when it comes to football. Unfortunately there were some technical delays getting started and keeping him awake was tougher..

A big two thumbs up to Andrew ,UT , Mike, GWN and anyone else involved in the show. Outstanding listen, again. Nice to get Paul's take on the Franklin becoming a free agent. Super to hear James Bell doing well after football , I had no idea what had happened to him after leaving the Esks. Thanks, Mike. Bell was one of the best DB's we ever had.

I was at the game where James Bell was injured. Will never forget that moment. Glad he's doing well. Doesn't happen to them all.
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

Finally listening to this week's podcast at work. Great discussion - loved the conversation about James Franklin. GWN brought up some great points about James' character and how that could play into how it shapes his off-season decisions for the next chapter of his football career. And Parkies, I agree with you, if Franklin was going to leave, Toronto seemed like the perfect home (other than Edmonton) to grow as a QB. That door (as you stated) may have swung shut with the Argos trading for Willy.

HA! I gotta update my shades to be that pretty.

Really enjoyed the process and the discussion with these passionate fans. Haven't had the time to devote to this site with work, travel and other things as of late, but it proved another way to get my fix for some football talk - both past and present. I think I held back enough stories that they'll have to take me back for a future episode next year, and there were a few that weren't suitable for the podcast as well.

Much like Angelus does here, Andrew puts a lot of time, effort and expense into that Podcast. It's not about financial return or self-serving purposes, but truly a labour of love, and I really respect that reason for doing it.

I'm going to start a new thread for it, but I was pleased to be able to announce a fairly big deal for me and my company on the Podcast - a business relationship with the CFLPA. That organization is in such good (and big) hands with Brian Ramsay stepping in as Executive Director, and the players will feel the benefit of his intelligence and work ethic for years to come.

Andrew deserves all the credit in the world for making the podcast what it is. Uncle Tim and I are just there to look pretty and chime in with occasional thoughts but this is truly Andrew's 4th child and he's done a fantastic job raising them all.

So glad this has worked out for you and Payline by ICE. A solidly Canadian company doing great work, and the fit with the CFLPA is a great one!

Wow guys! Thanks for all the kind words. I'm really just glad I get to talk with Esks fans every week and hopefully make it a bit entertaining. GreatWhiteNorth was an amazing guest and we will most defitilely have him back for more stories! And Superfan, don't sell yourself short. That editing is a huge part of the fun of the show. Also a #BigAsk from me

    Re: Eskimo Empire podcast

As an added note, as some people were saying it's cool to put faces to names, we now have a YouTube channel for the Periscope preambles. You can find it at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClc...oYku7QW8xYnSqg. I've put up the one with Jed Roberts as it was so fun. I'll post new ones as I can and some of the best history ones. (Have to get more Franklin in there somehow). Any feedback is much appreciated!

Game Preview for tomorrow's game has come out:
    http://eskempirepod.libsyn.com/size/2

We talk with Brian Wawryshyn (aka OrangeShoes99) from the BC Lions Den about the game. Nice short one (35 min or so) for those that need a shorter episode to listen to!

Art imitates life? We try to stay true to the team. I'd like to say we could get a whole podcast but I keep starting WAY back in the writing. DOH!

Another super listen. Again, very interesting guests. Brian explaining the logistics of getting the fans to games in Vancouver was an eye opener to me , especially those fans from the Island.

I didn't know the ferry stopped running late evening. I can see if you have to over night how things would add up. Tickets, boat ride both ways, likely dinner ..... etc.

Thankfully in the last few years the Lions have switched from all night games to include a couple afternoon matches. I don't go much because just the cost of the Ferry (1 person/car = about 75 bucks each way) is crazy. The transportation is usually the most expensive part of the trip. When I do go, I make sure to include an IKEA run as well as they don't have any locations on the Island
Brian W is a great CFL supporter and has gone out of his way to help groups of Esks fans get together for games at BC Place in the past. Tons of respect for the guy!

We were lucky enough to get the Commish on the pod tonight. Released it right away and it's only 20 mins or so. If you haven't had a chance to listen, this might be a good way to get introduced. We are trying to make the show more easily accessible and easier to listen to in one sitting. Thanks to all that have sent feedback already. Please keep it coming so we can make the show that's a Esks fans want to hear. Links for the show:

Slightly new format for the show coming out tomorrow, including a shorter play time. Nothing majorly drastic. We'd love to have your feedback #WeAreListening
