    Event Eskimos vs. rEDbLACKS; GDT

Eskimos look to avenge the loss in the East Final last year, and win the season series vs. the Ottawa Football Organizaton.

Depth chart should be up soon.

    Ottawa notes

Gascon-Nadon has been a beast up front for them this year, so that is a small win for us. As is Powell being out.

And we're out of receivers so we're going to be using a kicker and a d lineman as slotbacks....it's a bold strategy let's see how it plays out.....

Nothing obvious before he went to the trainers table on the sidelines. Lower body injury of some kind?

    3 imports on the O-Line.

    Very Canadian looking receiving corps.

Going to be an interesting game.

As long as #13 is on the depth chart, behind centre, we'll always have a fighting chance.

This could very well be the first loss of the season. That O-Line looks shaky. Hope MR doesn't get hurt too.

Ottawa will be tough, especially at home, at the best of times. With our second string offence, I think we could still pull out a win. Down to our third string, however, I'm not so confident. I'm glad that the injuries from last week are just game-by-game rather than 6-games, hopefully we can start getting healthy by the time we meet Calgary at Labour Day, otherwise our injuries will really expose us. I'm expecting a loss this week, but still hoping and cheering to be pleasantly surprised.

We still have Mitchell, Hazelton & Stafford as import receivers. Duke also on the 46, but I'm guessing he & either Hightower/Young will be the 2 scratches.....
I would think that both Roy & Ruby will dress as backups on the Oline.

Once Bowman & Zylstra are back healthy, we'll have an embarrassment of riches at import receiver!

Late to camp with a no huddle offense to learn I'm guessing. He's been out there on teams earning his roster spot so far.

I thought that Watson has been quite productive. Last week I felt that Stafford looked to be quite a drop off from the Duke.
My confidence in coming out victorious is at a season low for this game.

3 internationals on the Oline means Reilly better not have a RedBlack in his face the whole damn game...

Thing I noticed from Stafford was his inability to get YAC once the ball was in his hands. Something our other receivers have been great at this season...

Which isn't to say he had a bad game as he did make a couple nice grabs.

And the run game better be committed to. Wear them down.

Being that it's his second game back now, his game legs might be back under him. Need to use his speed and send him deep.

    Re: Eskimos vs. rEDbLACKS; GDT

To be fair...Ottawa is having some upheavel to their defense which has been great to begin with. Pruneau is moving to Safety and their entire secondary has been shifted from last game. Going with all international linebackers and Gascon-Nadon is out at DE with an international replacing him. This is forcing them to go with 4 nationals along the Oline which is where we can attack them. Need another big game from our front four...

Beard at centre will be a match up to watch as he makes all the alignment calls and sets blocking assignments. Beard is a relative greenhorn with little playing experience. Have to think that d-coordinator Mark Nelson and d-line coach Leroy Blugh have some tricks up their sleeves for the new guy making all the calls up front for the Eskimos. I predict that if Beard plays well the Eskimos stand a decent chance of remaining undefeated. If Beard falters early it could end up being an awfully long night for Reilly.

According to Reillys interview beard had all the calls and signals down and did a fantastic job when he went in last week...

    Hopefully this trend continues

I'd be careful here, Jedrock is probably a double agent in games vs Ottawa due to his family history.
