Hey Darian... it's Kavis here. Listen, we don't want to pay you that big bonus Jan 15th. Now, normally, a team would just outright release you and move on to other options. Problem is, unlike any GM that has a clue, I don't have any plan B at QB for the season. Yeah, we're screwed. So anyway, getting back to the team... cause we're all about the team, buddy; we were wondering if we could rip up this contract and sign you to a whole lot less? What say you?

Complete opposite from Hervey. Reed tells the media every thought he has, every private conversation he has with players agents, and his plan A,B & C.
At least he isn't nuts enough to pay Durant starter money. Better off letting a nobody lead the team to a 3-15 season. At least they might have potential to improve.

Does that mean they have a Plan A?
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

He's pretty much on his last legs in the CFL with Montreal. If he doesn't turn it around this season I can't foresee any team wanting to bring him in to coach or run the ship for them.

Hervey making moves to help the team. No surprise. He knows what needs to be fixed and is working to get it done.

Let's hope Groulx is not on his radar. Lions made a big splash last year getting national David Foucault who had a couple of years in the NFL. He looked a bit out of place at G , maybe he needed to adjust the CFL football. Jennings was under pressure a lot last year.

Lions have signed pending free agent OL Antonio Johnson to a two-year extension. Johnson was probably their most consistent lineman last season.

Freeman sucks and will do nothing here at all. Kavis Reed is perhaps worse than I thought as a GM, just awful.

Also - reports are now saying that Darian Durant's bonus was not due Jan 15th as reported - I originally heard Feb 1st, so we'll see if he signs a new contract or gets released before that date...

Interesting, what does Rutley bring that you didn't already have in Johnson. Cheaper maybe???

Darian Durant has been released by the Als'.

His bonus was due tomorrow and they couldn't re-negotiate a new contract for him.

Yeah I wonder what happens with Rainey and Johnson. Johnson is a pretty solid RB. With these 3 RBs on the roster, I am guessing John White to BC isn't a forgone conclusion anymore. Not much of a market for RB free agents, as there is a lot of supply and little demand.

Kind of surprising something couldn't be re-negotiated. I could see him just calling it quits at this point.
