    MLB MLB 2018

I hit them as hard as I could on the mouth right from the start of the game so they were thinking this was going to be a long day. Sooner or later one of us had to quit. And it wasn't going to be me.

Your Giants are loading up, just need a bit more help on the mound.

Disappointing to hear this. Likely had to do with his 2004 MVP year with the Angels.

If you think your logo is offensive and needs updating, why wait a year?

Probably because it takes time to create a new brand, jerseys, giant stadium signs, and stuff for people to buy. Plus they want to give people, who aren't offended by Chief Wahoo, time to buy the existing stock.

Then the message "we will fix our offensive logo once we milk it for all the money we can" is equally offensive.

Former MLB pitcher, Esteban Loaiza has been arrested in San Diego with 20 kilos of either cocaine or heroin. Pitched for 13 seasons with Pirates, Rangers, White Sox, Jays, A's, Dodgers, Nats and Yankees. In 2003 he was runner up to Roy Halladay for the Cy Young Award. Well at least he was able to find a job after baseball. Likely will be a first rd. draft choice for one of the prison teams.

Ditching Chief Wahoo is a no-brainer to almost anyone who's seen the logo- and this is coming from a 45-year Cleveland Indians fan. What I'm not however is a Tribe fan who lives in (or has ever been to) Cleveland. As good as the team has been of late, the franchise still struggles to consistently draw great numbers of fans to Progressive Field for a whole bunch of reasons. Taking away an iconic (to them) aspect of the Indians that their fans have grown up with and fully embraced has been as off-the-table as changing the team name from Indians (sound familiar?). I see making the change gradually as something that MLB hopes will somewhat temper the outrage of potential ticket & merch. buying Tribe fans who have a very strong "Cleveland against the world" mentality already entrenched.

Blue jays are just going to get smashed this year. Not near enough improvement of the team.

Another hiccup for the Jays. Looks like Tulowitzki will miss a least most of training camp because of a chronic condition in his right heel that has resulted in a flared up bone spur.
Since 2007 there have been five years where he has played less than 100 games and another year where he played in 101 games.

Tulo has physical injury problems, not mental illness. Plus those are baseball games, not golf games.

Some sad news today, hearing that " Le Grand Orange" has passed away at age 73. Rusty Staub had a 23 year career in MLB. Beloved in Canada as an Expo. Was known for his charity work after baseball. Also raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for families of 911 first responders.

I have a new found respect for the Texas Rangers today after they held a moment of silence for the Humboldt Broncos.

After taking yesterday off to watch the Humboldt Broncos vigil, here's a review of what was Day 12 in the MLB. http://wincolumnsports.ca/mlb-day-12-recap/

Jose Bautista signs a minor league contract with Atlanta Braves. Expected to join the big club soon. Notable that Atlanta GM Alex Anthopoulos was the Blue Jay GM for most of Bautista's stay in Toronto.

Seattle Mariners announce that future hall of famer Ichiro Suzuki will immediately transition to the front office of the Mariners. Not a "retirement" officially. Rumor he may play next year in the first two games of the season that will be played in Japan against the A's. Very classy move by Seattle.

My beloved Cleveland Indians are in 1st place but are driving me crazy this year with a leaky bullpen and a frustrating inability to score runs when they need them on the road. Having said that, win or lose their stellar starting rotation of Kluber, Carrasco, Bauer, Clevenger & whoever (as long as it's not Tomlin) are an absolute joy to watch.

I thought the Twins would be the only serious competition for the Indians. The Twinkies just shipped Sano to A Ball. Yeah, enjoy the playoffs.
