Whilst I agree with you 100 per cent I was actually referring to Jason... getting heat again for poor game management..

But your point is valid and I agree with you sir!

    The difference is this:

Ed had to rebuild not only the team on the field, but also essentially everything else football ops-related. People talk about the Grey Cup, but what about building the scouting system or training the ops assistants so that they understand what they need to do & exactly how to do it?

Brock, on the other hand, was gifted with a well-built team and a smoothly running operation with properly trained people PLUS a rolodex full of enough players to cover a team’s worth of major injuries.

Therefore, Brock does not get judged using the same criteria.

None of that changes the fact that Brock is a brand new GM in this league and a GM's body of work can't properly be judged until at least two or three years down the road. Anyone trying to argue at this point that there is a sufficient amount of evidence to determine one way or the other what caliber of GM Brock will become is full of it.

And why does it always have to be Ed vs Brock anyways? Is there no room to be happy with the job Ed did but also hopeful that Brock is capable of doing an equally good job?

    Oh, gotcha.

Yeah, I don't put much stock in what the internet geniuses say about Jason, he's got nothing to prove. Over the span of nearly two decades in this league he's shown toughness, resilience, passion, and work ethic that is almost unparalleled. He's earned one of the highest scores ever recorded in the history of the NFL combines intelligence test, has players that are willing to run through a wall for him, and has engineered an offence that's led the league in probably 80% of offensive statistical categories over the last 3.25 seasons including three straight years with the leagues top passer and more 1000 yard receivers than any other OC over the same time period.

Anyone who seriously believes we could just throw all of that away and somehow be better off is not worth time it would take to argue with them.

So all personnel that ed brought in are still here eh? Or are you forgetting who he took with him?

Hey I like Hervey, I'd still prefer he was our gm and that rhodes had taken a flying leap but Hervey has hardly gone into a wreck of a franchise in bc. He DOES get evaluated the same way any gm is.

I always liked when Rod was calling games back in the early 2000s.

Man, one week Trevor Harris looks like a world beater and the next he looks like a complete sieve.

Agree re: Harris. Almost like pre-Winnipeg Matt Nichols in that regard.

Yuck. Calgary might just win it all this year.

We’ve seen this story before though. They were always going to be a contender to win it. The question will remain whether they will choke come crunch time.

They have some solid players but I maintain the main reason for their constant dominance is that they have the best coaching staff and GM in the league AINEC.

I have a ton of respect for how John Hufnagel runs a football club. It would suck to see Calgary win a Grey Cup at Commonwealth though. Season is still early. Lots can happen

Yes, lots can happen...but if there's a team that can withstand injuries, it's them. They could have an injury run like we did last year, and their depth could take it.

    Then again, 2016 and 2017...

Exactly...the Stamps are such an amazingly run organization right from Ken King and Doug Mitchell on down through Huff and Mike Petrie to the coaching staff. Hell, they even have their own Dwayne Mandrusiak in George Hopkins...

I hope the Eskimos get back to that level of professionalism...

Lions D getting eaten alive. Peters also took a critical IC call to gift the Bombers an easy TD.

And Bowman drops a pass... Not a nice night for some former Esks (other than Nichols and Miller).

Damn, BC looks bad. Hervey has a very important decision in the off season as to who he will recruit to be his next head coach. No doubt he will need to go outside the organization.

Lions getting booed off the field after an absolutely horrawful clock-management shebongle.
