Nice we have a bye week after the Labour Day double header games.

Yeah, and those two games are the final two of the season. Those two games could be pretty critical.

We did this year as well. Didn't really work out that well for us though as we lost 3 straight coming out of it.

If we lost Reilly to BC I could see us go after Jennings. I can't think of a better coach for him than Maas and he could have a resurgent career here ala Burris in Ottawa.

If his 'wish' for Edmonton is to get their second choice - he can get stuffed.

I like Ferguson's stuff normally, but he went off-track from "a wish for each team" to what he thinks will happen or what he'd like to see happen. Wishing for Calgary that they lose Bo and try to replace him by grooming a neg list player isn't much of a Christmas present for the Stamps. I realize all the pieces can't be winners this time of year in the absence of real news.

I dunno, that's pretty much what I wish for the Stamps.

That Dickenson guy down in Calgary with his sidekick Dinwiddie as well as Huf being able to chip in has to look very attractive to any FA QB. If they don't somehow manage to keep Mitchell one would think Jennings will be at the top of Huf's FA shopping list. Jennings could be the hottest commodity on the FA list come Feb 12th. I would think the Riders also will be taking a long hard look at him.

Agreed - JJ will be in a good situation. Once that first domino falls, he will likely be at or near the top of a few lists.

A guy like Collaros may have more limited/specific appeal to a team like Cgy, with the O-line there and the tools around him. Is he a QB's QB? Might he be a guy with less competition for his services, allowing for an incentive-laden deal that could fit better with a Mitchell return?

Tons of upside to Jennings..... tons of bad in his game to.. however I know as an Oc I’d love the chance to work with a Qb of his skill set..

I’m not saying I want him here as a starter.. but as a back up to learn Jason’s system... I’d be more than ok with that...

    Re: CFL Offseason 2018/19

I think he's drastically underrated. We fans tend to have short memories. He showed a couple of years ago that he has the skills to be a top QB. He fell off the rails, but he can be coached back onto them. And Jason's #1 strength as a coach is offense and QB'ing.

Commentators around the league seem to have given up on him, too early IMO. I think he could be a bargain for us.

But man, getting Reilly back would be 5000% better.
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

Jennings isn’t awful......but he’s probably not as good as his agent thinks, either (judging by a few months ago). If Reilly was to be elsewhere next season, there are many worse options than JJ. I think he’s one of the better options, still young enough to gave lots if upside.

Let me put it this way - based on current known/familiar QBs, if the Esks lose MR & the Stamps lose BLM, wouldn’t you rather that JJ came here rather than Calgary?
I would want him in Edmonton, but Calgary has a better O-line & that is probably really important to him.

26 years old. 2016 - two short years ago - 371-554-5266-27td-15int and 68 carries for 363 yds rushing.

Lots of instances where a QB takes a step back before taking a step forward. Even more where they don't recover back to what they've shown they have been previously. At 26 years old, I wouldn't be writing him off.

Just imagine the washed up 90's - early 2000's rappers Rhodent could bring in if the Esks let Reilly go and replace him with a guy like Willy. What's MC Hammer doing these days!!

Naylor Also said that talks had been in place since Dec or a deal was struck in Dec... so I think it’s more of a move rather than being outted.. but who knows...
