Esks re-sign..
- WR Kenny Stafford
- FB/RB Calvin McCarty
- OT Colin Kelly
- LS Ryan King
- DB Forrest Hightower
BC doesn’t need Solly. They were fine without him solid last year.
I'd agree with that!

"No dress rehearsal, this is our life" - Gord Downie
A 9-9 season can certainly be in the eye of the beholder.
Sol was highly involved last year, just as JC was the previous year in Edmonton. An extra coach, a continued leader and mentor for Herdman.
I agree that they likely move on from him due to salary, but I don't think it's a move that should be downplayed in importance.
Coming off a wrist injury is generally a lot different than a knee or Achilles, and I would expect that he's still got some miles on the tires if there is a team that's a fit.
Let’s be real....nobody actually expected the Lions to finish at or above .500, so it was definitely a cup half full season (how perfect is that saying for a 9-9 season)
Solly definitely played a role last year, but he wasn’t playing. He was on the sidelines. Even with a restructured contract & salary, he’s relatively pricey & they didn’t need him as a player. Why would you pay soneone like that if they’re not playing?
In terms of leadership, that’s Odell’s D now. The only way Solly is with BC at the start of the season is with another major contract restructure. That’s my call. Guess we’ll see

That Bryan Burnham re-signing is my absolute favourite one so far.

hmm... maybe Franklin will be available after all.

I do not think bo levi is any better than a harris type, maybe worse. Big mistake for any team to over pay him. He's been on a great team for years, with the best oline a great defense and an endless supply of weapons.
First cash dump?
Sure Montreal will sign him!
Better not see his ass here in Edmonton #fakenumbers lol

Bo has had the luxury of a solid consistent line and refs informing blatant holds
Mike didn’t.. hense why imho Mike is still the premier Qb in the cfl...
Of course he had to d out in another scheme now.. unless jj says ok mike draw up for your fave10 concept and e will use em!
I wpuldnt Be surprised if that happens AT all

U gotta keep cmc around!
Solid move
I’m surprised they re upped kelly.. just because of the hated he gets.. golds read these forums they know!
This for me solidifies what I said from day1 whatever we see Jason sees different.. he’s around that man every day... and I respect a coach when it comes to that over me watching a game on tv.. not even film review..
King and Hightower are solid
Only shock is Stafford.... really
3DownNation saying the Lions have signed Duron Carter.Likely comes fairly cheap because of his history, but ...........
For a few horrible moments I thought that someone on Edmonton's TSN 1260 had said Carter had signed with the Eskimos. Imagine that guy stepping into the leadership vacuum that the Esks' locker room could be to start this season.

Big risk signing carter
Phenomenal athlete... absolute zero idea of team first ethos
He is not a cancer however just selfish..

With Reilly, Burnham, Carter and Lee making some pretty decent bucks (I'd expect that Carter is still making around 130-150), does BC have cap room for Walker? I'm thinking not, they'll have to roll with some cheaper guys to fill out the remaining roles. If Burnham is making 200K, Walker's going to command more than that.
Is it game day yet?????
So if my timeline serves me correct, the @BCLions & Ed Hervey are signing Mike Reilly (@ 700k), Willie Jefferson, Micah Johnson, Sukh Chung, Duron Carter, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Anthony Davis, Tiger Woods, Serena Williams, Antonio Bryant, AND Sydney Crosby. Got it #CFLFA

#Redblacks GM Marcel Desjardins expects Dominique Davis to be the team's No. 1 QB going into the season
Wow I'd be supremely po'd if I was a RedBlacks fan. Haven't seen anything out of DD indicating he's a starter. RBs have fallen down to the Als and Argos level IMO
Never mind...being reported by Drew Edwards that Jennings has signed with the RBs

Supposedly made 475,000 in 2018
Interesting take by Drew Edwards on 3DownNation. FWIW, they were, imo, the best go-to page for free agency updates, both in breaking things (mostly Dunk) or being on top of others' stories with a good auto-refreshing format that dinged when there was a new live blog post.

Not posting this as a troll for Rider fans, but because he makes an interesting point. As much as some here have painted the EEFC as crumbling, they proved today to be an attractive destination for top-tier talent - yes they were well-compensated, but as the article points out, players have a pretty good read, from a football perspective, which organizations have a solid plan and coaching staff. Playoff money can easily be another 10-25% for an above average salaried player. In an unprecedented free agency period like this, where it's probably more about plan for the roster than the actual makeup of the roster on the morning of Feb 12, it does come as a bit of an initial indictment on the faith that players have in what the Riders have built and the ability to sustain the momentum after CJ left.

The @TorontoArgos offer over 4 years for Bo Levi Mitchell was nearly 500k more than he accepted in Calgary, according to GM Jim Popp on #TSN1050. Annual salary would have pushed past the $800k mark during that proposed deal. #Argos

Crazy money, but obviously Toronto needs to do whatever it can to create excitement and fill the stands.

Derel Walker would be a good fit for TO. I wish him well and I don't want him in the western division unless it was with us.
