Might also have to do with his ongoing health issues. Isn't he fighting cancer. That can take quite a bit out of you. But timing of announcement is interesting.

Doubt it changes anything with regards to Mike. If he wants to be close to family, so be it.

Hope Rhodes cancer treatment is going well. Don't want to see anyone suffer from cancer.

But from a football standpoint, I'm very happy he's gone!

Should have happened as soon as the Grey Cup was over with. I think it would have had an impact on Reilly.

The mans gone,I think Everyone was ready for a change... even he knew it..

Of course he could just be jumping ship once the reilly to bc becomes reality to avoid any more harassment.. but I hope not.. I hope he is not leaving for health sake and is leaving because he knows it’s his time...

    But we will see..

Best of luck to him whatever he chooses to do in the future..

Big hire for us now.. we gotta get this right!

Why make the change now? Pretty obvious that:

    1. Reilly is not coming back.

    and/or

    2. Seasons ticket renewals are not going well.

There was lots of talk at GC behind the scenes that this was a done deal. They're just giving him a soft landing. He's become unsellable
I hit them as hard as I could on the mouth right from the start of the game so they were thinking this was going to be a long day. Sooner or later one of us had to quit. And it wasn't going to be me.

Good to hear. Now I feel like a bit less of a rube for renewing my season tickets before the Jan. 31 deadline. Next up? Get the 2 people on our account to pay me who haven't done so yet even though #13 is leaving. Hopefully this helps.

Every member of the current board who supported the GM change decision should also resign at the next meeting. The damage done may be unequalled under Rhodent's tenure

He's been mulling some sort of political aspirations. Knowing him he'll try and run as a liberal in alberta ot something

Soft exit. Not fired but off to pursue other interests. Still a load horseshat. Should of been fired. Didn't want to hurt his feelings, poor batch.

Thank goodness. Although, it's too late. The damage is done. I'll be shocked if Mike Reilly remains an Eskimo beyond tomorrow morning.

Well, if Mike Reilly was gone, I wouldn't have remained an Eskimos fan until Rhodes was gone. They've saved me as a fan with this move regardless of Mike Reilly. However, it would be a huge kick in the groin to see Mike Reilly anywhere but here.

Fortunately for Len Rhodes, the last snake move he pulled was dipping out early. Because he would have faced significant pressure until his pipes burst had he remained on.

Hearing Rhodes will be talking to Dave Jamieson on TSN 1260 just after noon if you were so inclined to listen to him one last time.

Re: Rhodes not to seek another term

You know there was a point when this lying sack of crap actually had me starting to sway over to his side. I actually thought he was starting to get it. Then the S O B fired Hervey! I have wanted him gone really bad ever since. I’ve continued to hold my nose and renew tickets and this year was really teetering on the edge of not, but I still enjoy going to watch football, and I’m enjoying taking and raising my kids to love the team and the game. I feel a whole lot better about renewing again now. Now if we could just sign a quarterback (hopefully Mike)!

    Hope he beats cancer.

Re: Rhodes not to seek another term

    Good riddance for sure.
I will give him credit for some of the things he did as per his resume on Esks.com. However, his image & tenure will be forever tarnished by his firing of Ed Hervey & his pitiful comment that “winning isn’t everything” at the time.
I doubt that it will make any difference to Reilly now staying, but had his firing been done earlier, Mike might have re-thought his decision.....

Well they just bought themselves another season for my tickets at least. Personal issues aside this is a move that should have happened 7 years ago but better late than never I guess.
Just a quick shout out to Mr."Winning isn't everything" for pis*ing away not one but TWO HoF QB's. F*ck you Len and good riddance.
