He was the first Bond I saw. I know he had his detractors for not being Sean Connery, but I thought he was fabulous. That understated humour. You just knew he was being serious and not being serious, both at the same time.

    RIP, Sir Roger.

Rip Sir Roger I got to know him watching The Saint. His Bond and the Saint were the same character not the best actor but a worthy one.

My favorite Bond, though the Mrs. prefers Sean Connery. As glen mentioned about the humor; always delivered the perfect punch line with that mischievous smirk. First memory of him was when he played Ivanhoe in the tv series.

I thought Roger Moore died 2 years ago.

He was the first Bond I saw. I now prefer Connery. But as years have gone by I now have a fondness for the Moore Bond movies. Over the top, silly. But fun and were made before over the top and silly was so damned commonplace.

To be honest I like all the actors that have played Bond. I just don't think that every movie is good. Some of those guys didn't get the writing they deserved (Dalton) and some were in totally under-rated movies (Lazenby). Some were super over-rated (Craig)

Another icon of an era gone by. RIP Sir Roger Moore.

Now, my Bond confession...While many were watching spy movies and action films, I was watching horror. Other than the Daniel Craig "Casino Royale", I've yet to see a James Bond film all the way through. I've actually seen more Matt Helm movies than Bond movies. I'd say my first Roger Moore movie that I watched from beginning to end was Cannonball Run (and he had a supporting role).

I don’t think I’ve ever disagreed with you more than now. Lol. Craig is the best Bond ever. Moore is second. I still think of Cannonball Run though when I think of Moore. Sad news indeed.

Just looked and yes he did pass two years ago. Yikes. How could I have forgotten that.
