    Ask Dale Potter

So my mom works or I should say worked with Dale's daughter Kenzie. When he found out I was a die hard Eskies fan he sent me over this. I have to admit he was a bit before my time can anyone tell me something (other than the quick blurp in wikipedia) about Dale and what kind of player he was.

We really do need to get 56parkies AKA super fan Mike, his own "Bat symbol", so we can all call on him in times like these

Mmmhmm 56Parkies was the one I was thinking of but thought maybe some other people could re-iterate.

He was a hell of a good linebacker that would also be a starter today.

Very nice items. That is the 1984 Edmonton Journal card that came out for Training Camp 35 years ago, and the other is from the 2016 Jogo Alumni set. Nice additions for sure!

Potter and Towns were the two Canadian OLB we ran for a decade from 1975-1984 flanking Kepley, with Dale coming to the team in 1974 after his rookie season in Winnipeg. He played on kick returns as well as a starter on D, and was a great run stopper as well as a solid blitzer. He got cut after the '83 season and played his last year in Toronto, but didn't last a full season there before hanging them up. Having the luxury of him and Towns beside Kepley for nearly a decade made them a pretty formidable trio - that continuity helped allow Kepley roam free and terrorize opposing offenses.

    Re: Dale Potter

In today's era I would liken Potter to an Emery type player. Good in the box
I hit them as hard as I could on the mouth right from the start of the game so they were thinking this was going to be a long day. Sooner or later one of us had to quit. And it wasn't going to be me.
