Glancing through the list - noticed Sask has Joe Flacco's little brother (also a QB) on their list.

I'd say they have a puncher's chance... with Reilly and Burnham, there is always the chance of hitting some explosive plays, and Lankford has also shown the ability to deliver a knock-out. If not for something fairly exceptional, if this one goes to the scorecards, Winnipeg is much more of a well-rounded technician with the benefit of home field. I think it would take something fairly weird for Wpg to let down its guard and lose... but they did drop one to Toronto already this year.

All teams have at least three QB's on the list, Ottawa has five. Except the Als who have zero . Of course it's ten of 45 , so maybe they are loaded up on tn the other 35.

I would say they are going to need some luck but there is always a chance.

interesting stat: we have given up 138 points or 17.25 per game, BC has given up exactly double that with 276 points or 34.5 per game. Time for the defensive guru Claybrooks to step up.

For all the clamour to make these lists more puzzling, I'm like you, there aren't a lot of familiar names on them. Maybe can add a little interest in Bowl season, but otherwise not a lot of impact.

That said, there are a few interesting names.

Hamilton has Donovan Glave, and from what I can tell, he's a Canadian kid at a Canadian University (Mount Allison) and it's not entirely clear whether he graduated last year or this next year. Curious as to what rule there is that makes him neg-list eligible.

Toronto lists Charcandrick West, and Montreal lists Nile Davis - both are NFL RBs that have been somewhere between fringe and pushed into timeshare roles, with West having had a bit more of a lasting presence and Davis being more of a pass-catching back.

Winnipeg lists Eastern Washington QB, Eric Barriere, who follows in the footsteps of Matt Nichols, Bo Levi Mitchell and Vernon Adams in that CFL QB factory.

Brett Rypien on the Lions list, is currently a QB with the Denver Broncos, but came through the Boise State Broncos. I was checking to see if there was a connection to Mark Rypien (who had Canadian roots IIRC), but it doesn't appear to be. Closest I could get to a CFL tie was that he was red-shirting there in 2015, Mercy Maston's senior year at Boise State.

the theory is that yyou give the running back time to pick up speed to hit the line I guess but it never seems to work

It at least makes some sense if you have a quick, shifty back. When you have a bit more of a lumbering runner (like we do) then it makes little to no sense!

You’d think at some point some one would look at the success rates and notice that the numbers are horrible, at least I assume they’re horrible based on anecdotal evidence. There must be some thought about breaking tendencies or something.

Interesting to see the graphic TSN just put up about most pass attempts over 20 yards, Matt Nichols just passed Trevor Harris for second most in the league behind Reilly.

Wow the Lions Oline is bad. Early in the season maybe you can sluff it off as a new line not yet gelled, not used to Reily, etc. But it's week 10 and they haven't improved. Reilly got sacked 6 times, pressured or hit who knows how many other times. He got the ball swatted out of his hand multiple times and but was able to get them back. The one Hecht sack. He didn't disguise it, he was literally standing on the line waiting to go. No one even put a single hand on him and he was allowed to drill Reilly full speed from the blindside. A less tough QB wouldn't have gotten up. The Oline for a lot of when Reilly was in Edmonton wasn't always the greatest but it was never that bad. There is rarely a series where he gets time to do much. There were a lot of times the Bombers only rushed 4, the Lions had the 5 Olineman AND the running back and the Bombers still got pressure. When you out number the defense, they shouldn't be getting pressure on you consistently.
Remember winning is not enough according to Len Rhodes, President of a professional sports team.

I wish Derek Taylor would do a stat on the conversion success rate on 3rd and 1 from the gun for the past 5 years. I'd bet it has about the same success rate as the onside kick.... very , very low.
    Is it game day yet?????

An american running back that's been pretty brutal all year I don't see a lot of takers. He has talent for sure but is he worth trading for? Not in my opinion.

I always questioned whether his tall lanky frame and upright running style was conducive to long term success as a RB, not sure about his ability to get along in the locker room either as what we’ve seen in the media suggests that could be an issue for him.

that's a nice way of saying he acts like a jackass sometimes =)
    yep he does.
I have a soft spot for him cause I was a big fan of his dad's during the tecmo super bowl days but no he's not exactly a difference maker.
