rare to see a Canadian with decent experience cut at this point, wonder if its a salary dump? I wouldn't think that would be it as I doubt they are up against the cap but maybe they are looking at production for dollar value. Speaking of vets getting cut, when is the guaranteed salary cut off date, is it the 9 game mark? I wonder if we'll have a surprising cut or two at that time.

As you say not a salary dump. They lost so many FA's they should have room. Wonder if they have some ex CFL'ers in mind down south they expect to become available soon. Good point about value. I can't remember what Feoli- Gudino did but he either dropped an easy pass or fumbled against us,it made me think that the RB's also released Lankford after he goofed up that punt into the end zone. Maybe Campbell believes a major goof up deserves that the player " walks the plank."
Pulled this info from a CFL forum. I think it is accurate (although the post is from 2008)
For players who've played six or more years,
their salary is guaranteed following
the ninth regular-season game.
The guarantee date for
a five-year veteran is after 10 games
while a four-year veteran's contract becomes
guaranteed after the 11th regular-season contest.

Maybe then he did sign a good deal with Ottawa. Would be releasing him right at the cutoff point then. Not the production he had in Winnipeg but then the Ottawa QB 'ing has been crappy compared to last year with Harris. Sinopoli also is not having a year like he did with Harris there.
Redblacks have added Stefan Logan to their practice roster...

This is currently the seating map of available tickets for the @TorontoArgos game. People are clearly taking advantage of getting free admission to the @LetsGoToTheEX with their ticket. Let's see what the crowd looks like on Friday. #CFL pic.twitter.com/6PH40g9sjS

Argos are currently running a promo with their (already) cheap tix that allow free admission to the CNE. It will be an very big crowd at BMO if everybody shows up. Could be loud for that Eskimo offense.

Good for them. They need all the help they can get.
Now, let's crush 'em.
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.
Great to see.
Let's hope a few of the people in attendance want to come to future games after attending this one.

He did. There wasn't room in Edmonton, and he wasn't settling for a league minimum rookie contract either. He hadn't played anywhere else in the CFL and Once an Eskimo, Always an Eskimo meant something to him.
I think Lemon's actually a guy that is well-liked and respected by his teammates. If anything, I think it's potentially his coaches that maybe have a bit more of an issue, as the reputation I hear is one of a freelancer at times - not an uncommon reputation for a guy that gets a lot of stats. He's moved around a lot for sure... nearly to Kevin Glenn levels (Edm, Cgy, Sask, Wpg, BC, Ott, Tor if I'm not mistaken), but the only place where I believe it was an acrimonious exit was in Sask, where he didn't fit under Jones and his defensive system that called for a lot of structure and role playing.
While it was pointed out that Coleman was an all-star last year, his performance this year has not been what was hoped for I believe. They have Claudell Louis (younger/cheaper) on the practice roster currently, after he'd impressed last year in the second half of the season last year. It appears that Menard (undersized for a DT) is immediately going on the roster for NI depth along with Junior Luke, and have Mackendy Cheridor (2 games experience) as the only other DT on the roster. With Lemon, Willis and newcomer Charles Wright (2 games as well), they don't have a lot of depth at the position.
I'm more surprised by the conditional pick going to the Argos... essentially suggesting that Lemon was potentially the bigger get than Coleman. I'm also figuring that Lemon was making more than Coleman for the year, but am not sure how that works out with up-front signing bonuses already paid, so maybe not as much of a cap hit to the Lions as it otherwise would be.
I'm not a fan of this move.

Thought this was an interesting discussion on TSN OverDrive the other day...also thought Rod Black looked sharp in that ball cap.
