Sorry for the delay folks, 25th anniversary and all that

Anyway, this week Angelus extends his lead by a point...but who's that roaring up the chart into second place? Who else? Don't say I didn't warn you.

3rd & Long, leader most of the way, is for this week at least tied with me. SKIP12 is in my rear view mirror, and somewhere way back there I see Anaconda, naf, and bone in the distance.

It is entirely a coincidence that the first two places in the pool are currently occupied by the site owner and the guy running the pool. Nothing to see here, folks.

Another week in the books...the Esks are sinking, and so am I

Angelus's lead drops from 3 to 2, but the three people on his tail have come up from below: naf, Wilkie12, and SKIP12. Anaconda, Looner and me are just a point back, which makes a total of six players all within a point for second place, Someone's going to make a move this week, I'll bet.

Considering I wasn't even in the top ten a couple weeks ago, I thought my title defense hopes were done. Turns out I was just giving everyone a head start so I wouldn't crush you too badly.

Unusual week coming up...only three games, and the east is on the road to the west. But two of the three eastern teams have better records than their opponents, and in the third game they're almost even. How many games will the east win?

I think if I accurately predict the scores the rest of the way out, I may finish top five

Not a whole lot of change at the top this week; looks like most of the front-runners picked all three west teams. Wilkie12 and Anaconda picked up bonus points though, and that brings them to within one and two points respectively of our leader Angelus. Naf and I are in the running and there are a few on our tail...it's real close this year!

It's that time of the week again! Really interesting week coming up. For the first time in a while, all four games could go either way. Lots of ground can be made up or lost in the pool this week.

Re: Official Esksfans 15th Annual (2019) CFL Pool Thread - With Prizes!

Another week wrapped up in the pool, and with just over a month to go in the regular season, things are just as tight at the top. Long-time leader Angelus continues to lead by a single point over Wilkie12, both of them going 3-1 this week. Naf's 2-2 drops him out of the top five (that's how close it is). Anaconda and I kept pace also at 3-1, but Looner moves up to a tie with me with a perfect 4-0 record this week.

All to play for --- the top six are all within four points!

Time for another round of picks...as the season goes into the home stretch, still a lot of turmoil at the QB position. Never a dull moment in the CFL...a couple of unpredictable games this week again.

After another week, Angelus is still out in front now by 2 points, gaining one on Wilkie12. Anaconda drops two points, falling a point behind me and Looner. Not much changing in the top five, still very close with a bunch of games left!

Winning the pool isn't about your heart, it's about your head

Of course I want the Esks to win next week, and I'll be hoping vigourously that I will lose that pick!

Another week done...a lot of 3-1 performances here; only six of us picked the Als to beat the Stamps. So there's not a lot of movement. Angelus maintains his two-point lead, but joining Wilkie to threaten Angelus's perch is me! (I snagged a bonus point even though I picked the Stamps.) Looner and Anaconda are still to be reckoned with.

Still close...not many players taking chances. Maybe that'll change as we get nearer the end of the season!

Tough week for the pool...all four games could easily go either way. Might skip the first game, but the others all look really interesting. Ground could be easily made up or lost in the pool this week.

Re: Official Esksfans 15th Annual (2019) CFL Pool Thread - With Prizes!

So today I'm thinking, this is MY WEEK. I actually hit the Ottawa-Toronto score exactly, picking up the big rare 5-pointer...that ought to push me past Angelus!

Except...SO DID HE. Not only that, the usually, shall we say, slightly on the pessimistic side, Angelus picked the Esks to win last night...and with my 5-pointer, I actually fell two points FURTHER BEHIND.

This does mean, however, that the rest of you are in trouble. I'm four points off Angelus's pace now. Anaconda's the nearest rival, three points behind me, followed by Wilkie, couchspud, and Looner.

I think it's time for the leaders to separate themselves from the pack, and I say it just started. Bring it on, the rest of you, because it's between Ang and me now.

Re: Official Esksfans 15th Annual (2019) CFL Pool Thread - With Prizes!

Pretty straightforward set of predictions in the pool this past week. The leaders pretty much all went 4-0 this week, making for only two changes-by-bonus-point. Angelus picks up a point and now leads me by 5; and Looner knocks couchspud out of the top five, picking up his own bonus point.

Next week's games will be a bit less predictable...likely to be some movement then!

Congrats to Angelus , Glenvb , Anaconda , Wilkie12 and Looner . You guys are incredible. I've put together a consecutive string of picking 17 correct winners (best this year) and I still can't catch up. Well done!!
I offer my best wishes before I fade into oblivion as the real masters finish strong.

Only four more weeks left in the pool...I'm doing everything I can to catch Ang, but I guess he's doing everything he can to stay ahead. We both picked up 7 points this week, leaving things the same at top. However, Anaconda's pulling away from his challengers (couchspud and Wilkie12 right now), and putting pressure on me, only two points behind. And as we all remember, there are prizes for the top two...

Looner...well, let's just not talk about him

Last week of the regular season...always a tough one to predict, with games being "meaningless" for some teams, sometimes both teams. But "meaningless" surprisingly doesn't translate into poor performances...these guys have pride.

Not much drama in the games this week...among the top five, the only one who didn't go 4-0 was couchspud, who went 3-1! So, virtually no change at the top.

But lots to play for yet, with five games left. In case anyone hasn't noticed, Anaconda actually leads in correct predictions...hasn't done so well in the bonus points. He's two points back of me in the race for swag; and Angelus still leads altogether by 5.

I'll post this week's games in the next day or two. Good luck, everyone except Anaconda!
