Burks at RB and Rodney Smith at receiver both did well for me last year as value picks when they were healthy. This year Im not doing fantasy, but have to admit that seeing them do their thing yesterday was like seeing two old friends back

    Seems like it balanced out.

If I was Hamilton, Id be following up with the league. How is it that EVERYONE missed Coach O out there? It was weird.

    How so?

Over on moringinbigblue there are many commenting about why didn't O'Shea challenge the spot on the Argos third down fumble that ended up being a first down. Did anyone see a replay that showed where the ball was advanced to and who was holding it at that point. I sure didn't. I did see officials from both sides of the pile going to where the ball ended up being spotted during the pile-up.

Chamblin wasted his challenge on that OPI or whatever he was looking for. It was on a play where the Argos were called for spearing (the second time) on a play where there was no spearing.

I didn't see anyone complaining about the play where Jefferson made the fumble recovery. Chamblin could have used his challenge on that play as a Bomber deliberately interfered with an Argo lineman who was going after the football. Why the Command Centre didn't award the ball to the Argos is a good question.

I did see one play on an Argo third down gamble where it was very, very close. The ref glanced at the stick and hurriedly indicated a first down, and the camera swung away. With my PVR I went back, and it seemed pretty clear it was an inch or two short.

Wasn't blue and gold glasses either, I was pretty full-throatedly cheering for the Argos.
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

The camera angle was very poor and would give the impression that the ball did not reach the stick. Compensating for the poor camera angle it is pretty clear that the tip of the ball did reach the stick.

its the CFL's and TSN's golden boy. I guara-fuking-tee if the teams flipped their roles that timeout would not be missed.

    Re: 2019 CFL Gameday Thread

I have no clue how the Argos ball got spotted where it did on that 3rd down gamble. Macbeth fumbles it behind himself, and then there was a massive pileup. The official scoresheet says olineman Bomben recovered it but how the hell did the ball manage to advance not just the yard needed but the small loss from the fumble.

The lightning quick “see ya” measurement made it all the more strange.

Also, what happened to the Argos vaunted oline?

Guys, you have to check out the kick return by Dedmon that happened just now, just before the half in the Ottawa-Montreal game. Might be the best one I've seen.

2nd of the night so I assume we're all taking him in fantasy next week where he'll get like 12 yards

Watching the Sask game the other night and the TW busts out “God Suitor just go down to the sidelines and suck Fajardo’s d!ck already...”. I laughed.

And yet the Eskimos seem to think an experienced returner is a must. Meanwhile the rest of the league keeps pulling these guys out their ass.

Stamps tied the league wide season low of 2 penalties against in a game. (Ottawa had the other, against Calgary)

That's because our issues aren't so much about the guy lugging the ball Imo

No, I don't think Jones is going to be a huge success here.

But we could be receiving a bunch of punts if we can hold them to 2-and-outs.... Unless you think they are going to turn the ball over on every drive? Which I would be ok with, btw

Probably true enough but I just watched some videos of Gizmo who was the greatest returner this league has ever seen. He was very quick and strong but what really stood out was that he made his dekes at full speed, none of this dancing around at a virtual standstill. He wasn't easy to bring down either.

Are we talking tonight, or long term? Tonight: I don't think he'll return a kickoff more than 40 yards. Long term: I don't think he'll be significantly above the league average in kick return yardage.

I'll be thrilled to be wrong! It happened once.

long term I was thinking if he returns say 3 kicks for a td this year that would be what one every 3 games so if he returns 3 on the year you have to change your signature for a week, if he doesn't I'll change mine for a week - nothing offensive, political or hurtful. Just a fun bet.

I bet we get 10 offensive penalties because you know, Maas is undisciplined TSN special!
