Rewatched last nights game...I am kind of shocked how poor the Bombers offense looks. Can the Bombers win with Matt Nichols? And I like their offensive coordinator in LaPolice...

Nichols is the epitome of a game manager. He likely won’t lose you very many games but he won’t go and win one for you either. He loves to check down because it’s safe. Harris was targeted as a receiver almost as many times as the 5 receivers combined last night.

Their offence had 12 points last night. They won because of 2 return TDs and 2 timely picks from their defence.

Harris is the heart of that team. Without him, Nichols couldn't be the game manager he is. It's amazing how many games they win when they've been out-played on the box score (including their game against us, IIRC we doubled their net yardage).

One very under-rated play from last night was ex-Esk, Mercy Maston coming in cold as an injury replacement (first week back in the CFL), and getting matched up against Eric Rogers in the red zone. Rogers had a catch, made a few moves, had Maston down, but Maston got a one-hand hold on his jersey, hung on for dear life to hold him up, then rolled in to get his ankles. Stopped a TD around the 4 yd line. Next play, Sales picks one off in the endzone, which wouldn't have happened if Rogers got in the first time.

Not saying that everything else would've played out the same, but in a tight, 2-point game, there are lots of twists and turns that could've changed who left with two points.

I dunno it looked like Judge was ooffside when he smashed montreals QB Shiltz resulting in a fumble return TD. Course TSN doesn't mention it - but I'm sure if that was Edmonton they'd be all over it

It was offside. Wasn't even all that close. Can't believe it wasn't challenged.

Wow...two weeks in a row, the greenwhites might be pulling out a horseshoe. Bizarre.

If the Riders were down by 7, you can get the league would have waited it out.

Had the lightning delay occurred 5 minutes earlier in game time, they would’ve waited 3 hours.

I agree with drawing the lines somewhere but the two scenarios having wildly different maximum wait times seems messed up.

It's definitely Suitor. And he's not even on the panel.

On the panel, for me it is Sanchez. But I agree with glen, for all TSN it’s Suitor by a landslide.

I have nightmares about Rod Black and Suitor calling Esks games together with guest analyst Johnny Manziel.

Sanchez is the prototypical "I'm gonna argue with every logical statement presented to me as obnoxiously as I can" buffoon that unfortunately floods our sports networks with extreme annoyance.
Having said that, Suitor would be my first to retire from the TSN team.

Not a fan of the called game at all. What do the think this is? Baseball? Baseball games are basiclly meaningless so it doesn't really matter if they call one.

I do not like that rule whatsoever. Like someone said if the roles of the teams where reversed, would it have been called??

I do hope its only implemented in the regular season and not in the playoffs.. That would be a unforgivable way to lose a playoff game.

Yeah I hate it too. I get that it's all about player safety but then again, has a football field ever actually been hit by lightning?? I don't know how they came up with the 17 km radius but maybe it needs to be a little smaller, the number of lightning delays we've had this year is getting crazy, and now we have a one score game called a quarter early.

I have to think that TSN played a very large part in the new "rules" regarding weather delays, and that sucks.

Gotta say though that the rule was negotiated and agreed upon during the off-season, and it was implemented correctly.

Greenwhites got very lucky last night (again), but it wasn't nefarious.

Oh, and I'm changing my opinion of the Judge fumble. Having gone frame by frame...I can't believe it; it was onside. Just an incredible bit of timing.

The human brain reacts to stimuli in about 3/4 of a second. Judge was off the mark instantaneously. It was just fortuitous/great timing.
