    Re: 2019 CFL Gameday Thread

Chris Cuthbert has a tweet that looked at the called game from a way I never even thought of.

The game was called off at 10:06 pm ET. The official start time was at 7:00 pm.

That means the game was called off 6 minutes after the time you would’ve expected it to end.

That is so ****ed up, how did they sign off on this?

    Re: 2019 CFL Gameday Thread

Didn’t we have like a 2 hour plus delay in Winnipeg few years ago and the redblacsk and bombers have another one last year.. ?

No one wants 5 hour delays.. but calling a game 1 score the difference after an hour is all types of ****ed up.

But wait till it effects sask negatively then it will get changed..

Yes, there were...but the rules say that a game that's more than halfway through the third quarter can be called after an hour. Our game IIRC was delayed just before halftime. (And I think the rule is new this year.)
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

That rule has to get fixed in the offseason, calling a one score game with over a quarter to go is completely bush.

Maybe amend it so that a three score game half way through the third can be called after an hour, otherwise the three hour rule applies or something along those lines. I wouldn't even call a one score game after the halfway point of the fourth, we all know how many CFL games are won and lost in the dying seconds.

Did anyone notice if Stafford made the game-day roster for the Riders yesterday? He was on their depth chart but I think he may have been the scratch as I didn't notice him in the first half of the game.

He was the scratch. It was down to the wire because Shaq Evans was a game time decision with a wonky ankle.

The one guy on the field that is supposed to watch the flight of the ball on kicks is standing four yards from the ball with his head turned away from the play. Add to the frustration, the eye in the sky missed an obvious call as well. Clearly an illegal punt out of bounds.

I don’t think it was out though....close but it squished the ground but didn’t hit the line.

I see white sideline chalk on this side of the ball. Looks out to me... and I haven't even had any booze or weed today.

    Re: 2019 CFL Gameday Thread

They showed one slow mo replay and it showed the point of the ball hitting in bounds and then it compressed a bit and touched the line so letter of the law says it was in. I am rooting for the TiCats though so I might be biased and I can NOT say I haven’t had any weed today so...

No lead is safe aka no penalty for the obvious illegal block that set up that huge return.

And a missed hold on the tying TD.

Lions gonna be pissed after this one. Probably a win if the most obvious of illegal blocks was called.

Another Rod Black moment...clock is ticking down between plays, 2:59, 2:58, 2:57...

You've been watching a lot of Eskimos football. There are less "holding" penalties against teams that aren't the Eskimos.

And yet he gets back up, bloodied and injured, and can't be dragged off the field. He may be the enemy now, but man...that guy deserves his toughness awards.

Remember in his early days here, when greenwhites fans said he was made of glass?

I remember them comparing him to Buck Pierce haha.

Just watched his post game interview though, it’s getting tough to watch those, he’s more dejected than we’ve ever seen him.
