Interesting BC lineup. They will be starting 10 NATs; 7 on O and 3 on D. On O it will be Foucault LG, Steward C, Chungh RG and Boyko RT along with Durant, Shaq J and rookie Jevon Cottoy at receiver. On D Herdman-Reed at MAC, Thompson S and Termensen at field CB.

As much as I'm enjoying the fact that Ottawa is keeping this first game close against Calgary, the Winnipeg - BC clash should be some very entertaining football to wrap up the week. Thanks for the intel Hammer24. Enjoy the game!

Very surprised by the Redblacks, they are holding their own in this game.

They have actually outyarded the Stamps but a couple poor decisions by Davis are the difference right now.

My first pick wrong in the pool, and I couldn't be happier about getting that one wrong.

Wow...interesting...Dominique Davis throws 4 picks at McMahon in his first game as a starter... and WINS!

This season is getting more and more fascinating. And it's only week 1.

Wow...can’t believe the Redblacks pulled that one off!

Those Stamps definitely don’t have the swagger they have had for the past decade to my eyes.

I'll take that loss in the pool in return for seeing Calgary crap themselves.

I've seen no comments yet about the BC Winnipeg game but when Rod Black is your play by play man you just don't want to miss a minute

Every team in the league has a game breaker return guy and the esks have guys who fumble, run it out to the 3 yard line when they should concede and whose big return gets it out to the 19 yard line

I'm so happy I got a ROD two nights in a row...

Nichols and WPG looking supremely sharp. Impressed.
Out of all the teams that have played this week they look the best. So far.

And of course, they got the most coninuity if I'm not mistaken?
Just wish this league as a whole with contracts gives more continuity. Too bad it just aint.

Bombers basically dominated that half but kudos to the Lions for having the lead.

Seems like every year the Stamps threaten to lose the first game but end up pulling it off. Maybe, just maybe this team is different.

The reffing is Sooooooo bad in this league. That blindside block call was nothing short of atrocious.

An incomplete long bomb into coverage...

...you don't have Duke anymore, Mike.

I guess we get to see if Mike still has that winning willpower that he showed in Edmonton...

Jello Mello plays a cliche "Jeopardy" during a review, and B.C. plays Bohemian Rhapsody.

    So not fair.

Reilly going back to the old habit of throwing bombs...right down to a turnover on downs.

It's only one game, but in light of what we saw last year - and last night - I think Reilly moving on might be a blessing in disguise.

And TSN 1040 lamenting the lack of run game, too.

Couldn’t ask for a better week on the out of town scoreboard (it’s never too early!!! )

I swear that Rod Black has wet dreams about a threesome with Duron Carter and Johnny Football.

    Re: 2019 CFL Gameday Thread

Reilly didn’t have much magic here last season. Other than the first game in the Winnipeg lightning storm he often played poorly in the second half.

In fact many games he had the chance to win in the last minute and either couldn’t come from behind or couldn’t even kill the clock with a few first downs to keep our terrible defence off the field. I believe there were four games we lost in the last minute where the offence could have won the game.

I am not happy with his decision to abandon the fans or the franchise and I am cheering against him. We all called Chris Jones a traitor for leaving how is Reilly different?

Frankly I think Harris has many attributes that are superior. He has better accuracy, gets the ball off faster, doesn’t lock into one receiver, doesn’t go for 40 yard bombs on second and three with a wide open receiver five yards away, and has a quicker release. He definitely can’t run like Mike but Reilly didn’t run as much the last few years anyway.

Happy to see the Stamps and Lions lose. Especially happy to see the stamps not only lose but look bad doing it. I assume they will make the playoffs but they won’t be 15-3 that’s for sure.

Loved seeing Jeff Hecht giving it to Duron for the alligator arms when coming across the middle. Solid service to his hometown tonight with the two picks.

Wpg's front 7 is no joke! Took away BC's ability to have any balance with a run game.

Yup, Stamps, Lions, Riders all lose and the Esks get a win, perfect weekend.

    Seriously? How is he different???

He was a free agent, not a coach under contract that negotiated a deal in the midst of his team's playoff run.

He made a choice to move close to his young family. Nothing traitorous about that. The abject entitlement that some people display, thinking he should be more loyal to his employer than his family and personal interests, can get pretty ridiculous.
