Good video on TSN. I like Harris's approach. Love what Boateng had to say. One of my favorite Esks. Look for him to have a big game !!

He was the big free agent signing last year. He was alright last year but for what they reportedly paid vs the production they got out of him, doesn't match.
Could be wrong for sure, just spit balling and Bazzie on the 1 game has nothing to do with Salary or he would be on the 6 game. Could be a case of being outplayed by a younger and presumably cheaper, Usher but wouldn't that have made him a cap casualty after camp was over?

I think he's nicked up you want to have all the good pass rushers you have on the field they would find a place for Bazzie and at least rotate him with Usher. Bazzie isn't much against the run but he's still a decent pass rusher.

Anyone on the 1-game doesn't create a salary cap benefit so why stash. Going by the individuals:
    - Bazzie is replaced by an American, so he must be injured or viewed as not good enough.
    - Knox is also replaced by an American and he was a major signing so he's a legit injury.
    - Cooper may be a stash just to keep him available, but no salary cap benefit. With him being 6-gamed originally now 1-game, maybe there is some gamesmanship on this player.
    - Bond likely a victim of ratio

6-game players do create salary cap benefit but:
    - Unamba obviously isn't a stash, as he may be the best player in the backfield. We can hope he recovers quickly and comes off early, but with his cap hit, if you aren't certain you may as well 6-game until he can practice.
    - Orange is exactly the same scenario as Unamba, plus he had the game clinching interception. They'd definitely prefer him in the lineup, but with large salary, you 6-game him and if he heals quickly remove him early, but if not at least you get cap relief.
    - SVR could be the most "important" player to the offense and we know he had surgery, so he's not a stash.
    - Parker was obviously out when the achilles goes.
    - Mulumba is a capable National so I doubt they'd be sitting him for cap purposes, but maybe. I think he was injured to end last year though.
    - The remaining Cender, Marshall and Stangby, it is possible they are stashed, but with them being back end of roster players, I doubt there is much benefit to doing so vs. releasing them or sending them to PR.
I don't see it as a stash strategy either... though there may be some that are expected to be out for 3 games, and you put them on the 6 game IR just in case they come along slower than expected.

Orange was coming off a season ending injury late last year, and was a non-participant in much of camp. I'm guessing it was a re-aggravation, and hopefully just needs a little time.

With that said, even if it's not intentional, it should be giving us some cap room - either to make the existing situation work, or to free up a buffer for additions as the season moves on. The shorter term pain of being without these guys will allow us to see what we have for depth, and should allow for reinforcements if needed down the line, but you'd just as soon have your best roster together.

Going to have to generate pressure on Mike tonight, both by scheme and guys out-matching their opponent across the line.

Right. Because I try to look at the Esks and the moves they make objectively instead of wearing the Green and Gold glasses all the time and pretending everything is alright.

If you bothered to pay attention, I was actually pretty positive about the offseason. I wasn't overly happy they lost Reilly but I thought Brock did a good job replacing him and filling holes. All I did was not immediately anoint the Esks as the best team in the West because I wanted to see them play some actual games and with all the new players, I thought there was a chance it would take a bit for them to come together as a team. I was very positive about the Rogers signing as he was exactly what I felt the Esks needed on the Oline. It's unfortunate and disappointing for the Esks to go after these guys, I assume spend a lot of money on then and see these guys get hurt so quickly.

I don’t like these injuries to Orange and Nunumba. I think we would have won had they been healthy now I’m less confident.

Hopefully Harris has another 400 yard game and Reilly throws lots of incomplete 40 yard passes on second and 3

Don't think I've seen the Lions depth chart so here it is, interesting that Woodman is listed as a backup CB, lets hope he sees some action there.

Holy cow, it literally took me five seconds to realize this wasn't the Eskimos depth chart. There are a lot 2016-2018 Eskimos on there.

I’m sorry - just looking now so am late with a reply, but they were already taken at the time of your post.

No cost. If there was, would’ve mentioned it up front. Didn’t even say which section (X), was just not wanting them to go to waste so wanted to exhaust all options.

All good! It's my fault for not following this site more closely...

Was the facemask obvious on TV? Couldn’t see it on the stadium replay.

Could have had Reilly off the field twice in a 2 and out. Instead two penalties and we're down 8-0.

Isn’t it a penalty if you run down the field with your helmet off? BC player lost his helmet.

It was intentional, took him completely out of his route. He was the intended receiver. The defender stayed on his feet.
