    Re: 2019 NFL Thread

My understanding is yesterday the NFL and NFLPA approved the field, and that the Raiders had also approved it.

Then a couple hours before kickoff, the Packers made a stink about it, and the said they weren’t dressing 33 players (all their top players). There are some online rumblings that the Packers just wanted any excuse to not play their starters in this game.

Agreed - it would be the equivalent of hosting a concert in the Saddledome, having lousy acoustics, and saying it reflects poorly on the NHL.

I trust that someone will have been in breach of the contract in some form, and it wouldn't surprise me if the organizer/promoter were scrambling this morning.

    Just brutal.

Did stuff like this happen with the Bills series in Toronto a few years ago?

Understand that CFL had nothing to do with field preparation.... that being said to average American who flipped on the TV to watch NFL football in Winnipeg and see and 80 yard field and the Packers refusing to not play 30 players... not a good look for the CFL.

Watching American Sports this AM a few analysts are saying the game should have not be played. Would have been nice to have NFL game and the post game be how great stadium was and field turf... rather they talking about 80 yard field and this was embarrassing that an NFL had to be played this way...

    My 3 cents..

To me, it's all the more reason to push back against that narrative when we see it.

You know, and I know, that the CFL had nothing to do with the field. You're probably right that the media won't do much to get that across, so I feel a little responsibility to make sure that it is clear that this has nothing to do with the CFL... just as it wouldn't have had anything to do with the CFL if the game went off without a hitch... unless they were selling Walby Burgers there.

Brutal hearing some people (mostly from Toronto media or know-it-all American reporters) actually trying to lay blame at the feet of the Bombers to a smaller extent the CFL. Just mind blowing...

Duke fighting hard for a roster spot, gets 3 catches off 3 targets for 15 yards and a touchdown.

The fans booing Luck was disgusting. Too many times people see these guys as just faceless running numbers that should entertain them for the next 15 years, no questions asked.

Any word on draftee DE Matthieu Betts? NFL training camp nearing an end and is Betts going to shake lose from Chicago?

He would be a nice addition to a excellent DL.... although I’m extremely impressed with the rotation of Boetang and Joseph.

Not that I needed another reason to cheer against the Colts. But yeah. Disgusting.

That's a surprise, I heard he was having a decent camp, hopefully he gets another shot.

    While we're at it...

...the Browns doing their best B.C. Lions impersonation yesterday. All hype in the off-season, all at game-time. Just one game, but we will see.
