Injuries to their roster certainly look to balance the lineups, but they should still have the advantage. Lets hope for OT to satisfy both fan bases, and whoever gets lucky in extra time takes the bonus point.

The Oilers have exorcised their demons against Boston and Toronto on the road this season. I wonder if the same thing will carry over to Tampa.

No Stamkos, Kucherov or Cirelli for the Lightning. If there was a game to beat TB without McDavid, it's tonight.

They never beat them in Tampa during the 10s. But there's more than one team that can boast that I'm sure. Edmonton has won more often than not in Edmonton though, so I don't know if it's demons to exorcise as much as Tampa just being a really good team that you'd expect to win more often than not at home to a non-playoff team.

Tonight may be the closest these two rosters have been to even in at least 5 if not 10 years aided by the injury news.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Oilers come in to Carolina after playing the previous day in Florida...sans McDavid...and win. They also put up with a lot of missed calls and a Hurricanes team that was playing at home and decently rested.

First ever Oilers road game for me, and first ever Edmonton road win in person. Makes me miss living there...in summer, anyway...

On the bright side though, this potentially sets the stage for Ethan Bear to get a long-overdue chance on PP1.

Russell will be back soon. I'd rather have Klefbom. McDavid back soon. Then Neal. Then Kassian just before the deadline. I hope having Klefbom hurt doesn't make Holland gun shy over trading Russell or Larsson.

Does Bouchard get the call for a few games perhaps?

I just hope he's not called up to sit in the press box. No good up there.

I do not see him getting in the lineup ahead of Larsson, Bear, or Benning.

Last night was a great hockey "moment"
The fact it was against the Toronto Maple Leafs was icing on the cake.

Truly a great moment, and watching Leafs nation implode over it is sweet!

Multiple outlets confirming that the Oilers have traded Kyle Brodziak and a conditional 4th to Detroit in exchange for Mike Green (50% ret).

Even if Green is a shell of what he was once was, he'll be a great mentor for Bear.

One of those outlets would have been sports net during the Oilers' broadcast.

Adding a veteran D-man on a rental sounds like someone else is on the way out the door.

They don't have Sportsnet down here in NC.

Literally found out from browsing HFOil at 1:00 in the morning.

AA to Oilers from Wings, as per Gord Miller. Details incoming.

Return to DET is allegedly two 2nd round picks and Sam Gagner, as per Stauffer.
