Congrats to Korey and the new career.
Likely the first time I ever was right. They say even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes. Looks like a really good position for him. Not many people get an NFL opportunity.

I like this signing of WR Smith. He had some big games for the Argos down the stretch. We will have some competition this season at WR....

There was an interesting column in the Toronto Sun today that not only linked Green to Edmonton due to his ties with Milanovich, but also suggested Jim Popp is consulting on football ops in Edmonton. Iím not sure how to feel on that, but the scribe, Zicarelli, really thought he was a part of the influx of ex-Argos this year.

    Yes, yes, yes.

I don't care how old he is; dude has the potential to be an amazing mentor for any young rookies who join our roster this season.
Keep an open mind, and you never know who might walk in...

but is a mentor role something he's interested in though?

Good question. I think he knows his career is winding down - perhaps he has that sort of relationship with Milanovich that could help him acquire a coaching position in the future?

Turn your back on Sj Green and pay the price. Would be a great addition. Kevin Elliot may not be quite as excited.

    Rodney Smith is another gem.

Setting up to be quite an air show in Edmonton. T. Harris could throw for 6000 yds.

Now if only there is a season.

Mentioned Kevin Elliot yesterday and thought afterward that he might have Scott Milanovich connections from his Toronto days. Seems kind of a long shot thinking about Ricky Collins and the strong national depth but who knows. Elliot would qualify as a national replacement option which may help as well.

Harris missing games last year hurt all the receivers numbers imo. Ellingson would benefit from playing alongside SJ. Duron Carter might be just as good though and you could burn Ed Hervey and Rick Campbell by doing it.

Probably way too late but I would be talking to Donald Parhams agent. 6' 8", 22 yrs old, runs like a deer.

I'd love to see Parham as well but supposedly he is in negotiations with The Patriots. He is a prototypical TE but with his speed he will stay in the Nfl I believe.

Play him at cornerback. Patrick Watkins 2.0.

DC would need to bring his game but I believe he just needs to find a spot to play.

3 Down Nation is doing a series on players on team rosters and the duration of their contracts. Today they took a look at the Edmonton Eskimos:

This could get really, um, interesting if the CFL season is put in jeopardy by the virus.

I could see the league doing a 8 or 9 game season (starting at Labour Day with no bye-weeks for 9 games, and a bye week for 8), but to be honest, even that might be a stretch to consider when you look at some long term Covid-19 projections out there.

I’ve started to come to terms with the idea that this season will be wiped out. I don’t think the CFL could do a no spectator season and I just can’t see the world going from 10 person gatherings to 25k plus in the next 6 months.

The question for the CFL will go from how to salvage a season to how to financially survive a lost one imo.
