"Next time, take a case of Pil into the huddle. If you don't get a beer, get the hell off the field!" -New special teams coach for the Riders

"...I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, I enjoy the banter though..." -Looner
Noticing the BC Lions have announced Ryan Rigmaiden has returned to the team as director of U.S. scouting. Was with BC previously from 2012 til 2017. Also Torey Hunter is now not listed on their staff. Possibly an oversight or he may have left because of Hervey's departure.
The lions decided not to renew hunter's contract

Justin Dunk followed up with news that the Lions were aware of the clause but blame the guy who is no longer there is always best. Keep your back to the wall for those left in BC.
I would love to see Ed Hervey get the chance that Kyle Walters and Mike OShea were given.
Toronto would be a perfect fit although John Murphy has done a good job over the years without ever getting much credit. Strange that Pinball is the GM imo.

Free agency begins Feb 9th. Today the CFL has released the list of eligible players:

Some interesting Eskimos on the list including Sean Whyte, Greg Ellingson and Kwaku Boateng.

First I will give full disclosure. I have no use for anything Dunk says
I think he's a weasel. That goes back to when TSN and the CFL tried to turn the draft into a legit TV event for the fans and he used his inside privileges and press credentials to drop the draft selections before they were announced to us the CFL fan audience. He should have been permanently stripped of his CFL media credentials over that. It was totally inexcusable.
It's tough to come to a conclusion given the mystery behind Hervey's sudden departure. Some point to the circumstantial evidence of the timeline between when Reilly apparently filed the grievance and it becoming public. If others in the Lions organization were unaware that becomes plausible reason to leave. If they were indeed aware then that isn't reason for him to resign. There has to be another reason but Ed being Ed there always seems to be a shroud of secrecy. Still I find it hard to believe he wouldn't stand up to defend himself if the likes of Braley and LeLacheur were totally aware.

Negotiation lists for each team on TSN's website.
Reilly's deal has been restructured. No details but presumably the grievance has been settled and a salary reduction is included.

Edit: Details in the TSN version. Significant cuts for 2021 and 2022 and grievance money to be paid in full.

Lions sign former Bomber DB Marcus Sayles. In light of a lot of recent discussion amongst CFL fans about their #1 pet peeve, the 1 year contract, it's interesting to note that Sayles agreed to a 3 year term.
#CFL makes it official. 2021 regional and National combines will be held virtually this year. Drills and team interviews with draft prospects will be held online. Dates for all combines and for the CFL Draft will be determined later.

Since signing Sayles BC has also re-signed former Eskimos Kenny Ladler and Joel Figueroa as well as starting NAT receiver Shaq Johnson. On top of that they restructured contracts with starting OL Hunter Steward, Sukh Chung and Ryker Mathews.
The big fish left to fry are Bryan Burnham and some of the d-linemen they signed last year including Micah Johnson, Chris Casher and Ryan Brown. Jevon Cottoy optng back in would be huge.
